OVERCOMPENSATING: The Journal Comic With a Seething Disdain for Reality.

“No doubt you’ve heard about the Texas Board of “Education“‘s decision to rewrite history books to give history a “makeover” and have it be more in line with “American Exceptionalism”. I’m trying to think of similes for this but there aren’t any. It’s just stupid. We’re Americans and we got some flaws. People are stupid and greedy, and that’s why an unregulated free market doesn’t work all that well, and it’s pretty much exactly why we’re in the mess we’re in.

We did some bad things as a country, and a lot of them have already been swept under the carpet for many of these reasons. Americans are very fortunate, and a lot of that fortune comes from learning from mistakes we’ve made. Ignoring mistakes you’ve made in the past in order to justify your current actions is, quite honestly, crackhead mentality.

History is there for a reason, idiots.”
